Welcome to an immersion of Yin Yoga and Sound Healing with Susanna Strandh. After 6 months of teaching, travelling and studying Yoga in India, Susanna is now back in Sigtuna to share her passion with you.
This session will be of a nurturing nature with the intention to let go of toxins and stress from the darker winter period and inviting a new, vital energy for the spring. An opportunity to tune inwards and enjoy a deep state of relaxation.
What is Yin Yoga?
Rooted in the traditional Chinese medicine this style of yoga is based on the Taoist Concept of yin and yang, two opposite energies in nature that can help us understand how the world at large functions. Yin and Yang are opposite energies, yet complementary and interchangeable. Yin and yang are equal important for optimal health.
Compared to the Yang style of Yoga which is active and dynamic, Yin Yoga is a calm, passive yet intense practice where we hold poses for a longer period. Through this we stimulate the connective tissue and meridian lines in the body so that life force (Chi/Prana) can flow more efficiently, releasing emotional and physical blockages.
