Come and learn the FUNdamentals of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa. This 3 hrs long workshop will introduce to you the principles and method of Ashtanga Yoga, the foundation from which other flowing Vinyasa styles are derived.
Ashtanga yoga is an amazing practice of connection through your mind, body and soul. The benefits of Ashtanga Yoga practice are endless. It works as a therapy, making us stronger and more flexible, cleaning out our system, distressing and detoxing our body and mind, it helps the body in its ability to heal itself and maintain a strong and healthy immune system.
We will learn introductory physical postures from Ashtanga yoga (asana), we will discover the breathing to enhance the postures’ benefit, we will explore the gentle muscle engagement to increase power (bandha) and we will learn to transition between postures with safe, controlled movements.
This workshop is suitable for beginners new to Ashtanga Yoga, as well as all yoga practitioners. No previous yoga experience is required. The techniques of the tradition Ashtaga Yoga we will discuss and practice can be of significant benefit to other styles of yoga. Let’s explore and have fun. Workshop is in English.
